Lori Koop . Artist
There is a season to all things under heaven, they say.
I’m picking up where I left off when ArtCenter College of Design released me in 1998 with a Fine Art degree. Things were different then. There was so much ahead. And now, so much behind.
Life has taught me to live fully. Love what you do, with who you do it, today. The tide has turned back to allow longer stretches of personal time. Finally work doesn’t feel like work. I spend hours play working.
This is the first time lorikoop.com represents me as an artist. I’ve been self employed, but now, it feels different. I think it’s age. We mature into different thinkers. We are grateful for every day. We paint knowing we can always paint over. And we know the best work is imperfect.
I work in my small studio in Sierra Madre, California. If you want to join me, I’m taking others with me. That’s what Sacred Play is all about. It’s my solution to working alone… because we can’t do it alone. It loses it’s sparkle. Together we go farther, see more and grow deeper.
I live at the intersection of creativity and spirit. Always looking to play beyond. The magic is there. Waiting. Being still and willing is all it takes.
I paint. I play. I love. And I breathe.
I’ll meet you there.
